Children’s Eye Health

When supplying your student as they go back to school, don’t forget to also have their eyes checked. Children of all ages can have eye exams. If the patient can’t speak yet, the doctor still will be able to check the child’s vision and give a glasses prescription if it is needed. Children with conditions including eye turn, lack of eye focus, and better vision in one eye than the other need to have an exam to make sure the eyes are healthy. Children don’t always have the words to describe vision problems, so it is best to have them evaluated by an eye care professional who can use instruments to determine any issues with their sight.
